*How did you get into making films?
As a child everytime a teacher had medical leave in school there was a room with a 16mm screen projector. So we saw screenings of Merry Melodies, Grease, Star Wars, and other Disney films I don`t remember. Then, I started thinking of making ideas.
*What inspired you to make your movie?
Actually the whole story comes from an script of Luiz Rosemberg Filho, the director, he wrote this story back in the 1970's, about 2 empowered men, fascists and corrupted (sort of all worse sides of mankind).
Since many of the latin american countries have, somehow been taken by extreme right wing and totalitarian governments, after the Dilma Rouseff impeachment, Luiz decided making this movie. Now, there was no support from the Brazilian Government, then Joao Lanari, Cavi Borges and PH Souza, producers from Brazil, decided to look for a Chilean partnership, in order of taking the film out of the Brazil of Jair Bolsonaro. So that's when Soledad Cáceres and I (Cintamani Films) got into the story.
*How has your style evolved?
I started making music videos in the 1990's, prior to that I was just making record of concerts I liked.
We made a few 8mm videos with bands I used to know for those years. Then started to be part of larger crews for more music videos, documentaries, finally, after a seminar I took with Professor Michael Hausman (The Tiger and the Dragon, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, brokeback mountain) who got me into the Executive Production.
Actually with Cintamani Films we are producing and distributing many short films, documentaries and features.
Soledad is also the head of a Foundation that promotes the Roerich Treaty en Chile, so basically we are looking for projects that really can contribute to change society for good.
*Tell us any strange or funny stories while making the film?
Well, the film is based on a script of the 1970's, so one of the details is that social networks and cellphones are really not important in the story, you see them, but not like an integrated part of the story.
Something else, Igor Cotrim, the main actor, we are friends with him since at least 3 or 4 years. He is a very versatile actor, one of his most famous roles is a Prince in a fairy tale based soap opera, but his second most important role is a transvestite named Madona, on the feature Elvis and Madona. So seing Igor playing this rude and wild macho at The Princes, it is funny.
Also, the day we received the final copy of the feature, we were in Buenos Aires, with Igor, Soledad, so we saw the film at the apartment we were renting all together. Igor is naked and very violent in many parts of the feature, so, it was sort of "funny" to have Igor beside us, was like going to the movies with Hannibal Lecter or Alex, from the Clockwork Orange.
*The Misrule Film Movement & Pink8 manifesto bring what to mind?
I think since Digital is available for everyone, there are more different ways of telling stories. The important thing is not making another copy of a copy, but something that reflects the state of society or can give a hint of what to do to correct it.
Young people have an infinite creativity and talent, and at the same time, there are so many things wrong in the world now, that you have to be specific on the spot you want to focus on changing it.
We think cinema is a very important artistic expression and the more films and more cinemas, the better.
*What can we expect from your next film?
Right now we are working in many development projects.
One of them in special is about a real case. It is an animation, directed by Fabrizio Bartolini, italian - chilean director, with script by Fabrizio and Daniel Osorio (Academy Awarded by The Bear Story), it is about a couple of punks who got a housing government support, so they got a little tiny house in the suburbs, far away from the big city. So, celebrating their new house they decide cooking a recipe taken from a newspaper (with spelling or printing problems).
The real case got 13 injured families, and was worldwide covered.

It will include music by Chilean punk rock pioneers Fiskales ad Hok, and we think will be explosive!
